Passive aggressive bullshit

I'm getting the passive agressive bullshit from my preceptor - we just did a couple of days together last week. I'm supposed to do a videotaped session and so I have to ask permission and have to put this into writing. I did this and had my preceptor look this over and she gave me the go ahead. Unfortunately I didn't have an internet connection and so I offered to put the note onto a thumb drive and transfer it onto her computer - she declined this though. She said that it was fine and that to email it to her when I got home. Unfortunately I didn't get home til really late, then I worked the next day and so I sent it on Thursday at like midnight. Then I get this email on Friday (tho because I was up really late Thursday studying for this exam due for Sunday) saying that the letter is crappy (essentially) - tho said in passive aggressive manner - and that I had to do it differently. She then gave me an exxample of how she wanted it. Again all passive aggressive. UGH!

Also - this week was midterm eval week and my preceptor had her packet on monday and so I didn't provide one and she filled it out - and on Tuesday I had her and I sign off on it. Then on Friday she emails my PROFESSOR asking for another copy of the packet, as though I had never provided one for her! Again, passive aggressive! She COULD have emailed me.... but no, she goes over me to the teacher to make me look bad.

I don't know what to do about this all other than to make sure I keep my nose clean. I certainly have my back up! Goodness, why does this keep happening to me?!

Sigma Theta Tau International invitation

I've reached the big leagues and my hard work is being recognized - I accepted my invitation today.

I didn't quite understand the significance of the offer because my hubby (ever the researcher) has made me turn down previous offers to accept honor society offers of enrollment. So when he called me and asked me if I accepted the offer (he saw over my shoulder prior to him going to work) and he was alllllll jacked up, I didn't quite understand why he was all worked up.

He was soooooo excited on my behalf. According to him this is the honor society of all honor socities for nurses! He was so excited because only ~45 people would be offered an invitation. Now while this doesn't sound significant (it didn't to me at first to be honest) - lets just do so - this 45 person offer includes ALL nursing related programs - LPN, LPN-BSN, RN-BSN, Straight up BSN, fast track BSN, MSN, DNP, (including online/distance and on-campus) etc... that is offered by my university!!!  OK, my university is HUGE and offers MANY nursing programs and so when I found out that I was one of the 45 (out of probably thousands) then THAT is significant!!!!!!!

So ya, I accepted that one PRONTO and even bought my stole for graduation - gotta show that I got my honors and paid my dues - ha!

Now to just graduate

Yucky vomit

Little tyke came to hang with me last evening, asking to watch some TV with me. I was down with that! She complained her belly was hurting. Not unusual with her - she doesn't eat enough so when your body has hunger pains, she complains. I also saw her eyeing up my chips so I told her that if she wanted some of those that she first had to have something healthy. I told her she had to have a banana in order to "earn" the chips. Surprisingly this worked!

She actually ate the whole banana and made it through 45 min before complaining that she thought she was going to vomit. Another 20 min and the poor girl had her head in the garbage container in my room vomitting up that darn banana.I felt like such a shit head for pushing the banana but figured the hurting tummy had to do with NOT eating...

Well q15min she was vomitting and soon it was only bile coming up and she was dry heaving. I tried to get some gravol (dimenihydrinate) into her belly so that it wasn't so difficult on her - and she was having such a hard time trying to keep it down - I think it actually took 3 tries to get her to keep it long enough to actually be absorbed.

Then the vomitting episodes lengthened to qhr to 1 1/2hrs throughout the night. At least she managed to vomit into the container that I gave her and not all over my bed or pillow!!! By the morning she vomitted a last time and was just exhausted even though she slept. She didn't want to eat after she woke up - she actually wasn't willing to eat until my MIL made soup and we bought gingerale!!! But she drank her gingerale and ate her THREE bowls of soup and kept everything down thankfully! She also spiked a temp of 38.3 (100.94) but she wouldn't take tylenol/ibuprofen because she hadn't had her gingerale or soup! Such a funny girl - she would rather have a temp and feel crappyish because of it instead of taking something to make you feel better. But after she ate her soup and had her gingerale, her temp had come down to 37.7 and I was ok if she didn't want to take the meds at that point. But no fever after that point so that makes me happy.

Hopefully tonight will be a better night with no more vomitting!
